pre-surgery for endomentriosis questionFrom: anon. (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 14 Sep 2000 02:50:28 -0500 (CDT)
My gyane has me scheduled for a laparasocopy and removal of endomentriosis in mid-october. The problem causes pain when there is anything in my bowel - this pain is beyond belief (I feel like I'm splitting inside and can't move when I have a spasm), and I have a constant ache. When I phoned to confirm surgery time, the secretary told me that it won't matter if I'm having my period at the time of surgery. My question is: how will they be able to see where the endomentriosis is if I'm NOT having a period? My Dr has mentioned that there is probably a lump of scar tissue adding to the pain, which I'm sure will be there regardless of my cycle stage, but how will they see where the endomentriosis is? Thank you for your help :)
