Urine Pregnancy Test - Dr. vs. Home TestFrom: Beth (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 13 Sep 2000 18:35:28 -0500 (CDT)
I was diagnosed with a bladder infection today and given Bactrim(Cotrim) to clear it up. The Dr. asked if I could be pregnant, and I said it was possible because I'm on day 23 of my cycle and ovulated on day 19 or 20 of this cycle (I use BBT charts and am TTC - LMP 8/22). She then ordered my urine to be tested for pregnancy. It was negative, and I asked if this would show up in urine so quickly. She said that their urine tests are accurate within 24 hours of conception. Is this accurate? This was my first time to see this doctor (PA) as my regular doctor was not available. Thank you.
