Alesse's information incomplete?

Recently, I was reading the insert to the birth control pill going by the product name of "Alesse". In summary, it stated that the pill works in two ways; 1) inhibiting ovulation, 2) thickening cervical mucus.

However, I know from the Physicians Desk Reference, and indeed, every medical manual of any substance which speaks about the nature of "the pill", whether it be mini-pill or otherwise, that there is always a third "back-up" mechanism whereby the lining of the uterus is altered to prevent implantation of the blastocyst.

I am concerned that this information is not being included. I checked with other friends who are on "the pill" and asked to read their inserts, with varying results. It seems as if women are not being given all the information, and it truly seems to me as if this information is being hidden. Even in speaking to medical professionals, some are either unaware, or deny outright that there is, in fact, a third mechanism by which "the pill" can and may work, contrary to the information stated by authorized medical organizations.

What is the definitive answer here? As a well-educated woman who cares about side-effects, information, and being dealt with in an up-front manner, I am insulted that Alesse chooses to censor this information. Can anyone tell me why?

The only alternative I have is to believe, based on the info provided by Wyeth-Ayerst in their inserts, is that Alesse is unique in that it works differently than all other BCP's on the market today.

Thank you for your time and attention.
