Reply: William F. von Almen, II, MD, FACOG: "Re: Adhesions?" I had a vaginal hysterestomy, followed several weeks later by several surgeries for a pelvic abscess. I ended up having 1 ovary and tube removed. Since the surgical pain healed I've been bothered with a dull ache in the area of my remaining ovary, sometimes going straight through to my back. Also, deep penetration with intercourse is painful (with increased aching in the ovarian area the following day) My vaginal cuff also seems to be "bumpy", I've been told. The area above my incision is hard all the way across, and some times sore when pressed. My last surgery was 4 months ago. Any thoughts/suggestions? Thank you!
