Not likely

Please let me know >what reparative processes this might occur from.

The area of the cervix where the squamous cells meet with the glandular cells from the canal of the cervix is an area of much activity and as the glandular cells get replaced by squamous cells a process of reparation occurs. There does not have to be damage from any outside source to cause this.
