thank you for your help tonite. I have discussed this problem with my therapist in the past, and essentialy i fail to make any progress. The real problem is I can not make sense of verbal interactions. Probably one of the most important aspects of the patient doctor interaction in the verbal exhchange. since i can not do that effectivly i can not expect for doctors to be able to help me. I have aspergers syndrome and several other problems that make interacting with people difficult for me. I am mordified to go into a doctors appointemtn and explain to a doctor that, I will more then likely not be able to respond to anything you stay to me with anything more then "ok". That i will never make my eye contact with you but i am listening and am unerstanding, i just can't understand and respond at the same time. That i will agree to anything just to end the verbal exchange that i can't make sense of and respond too the way i want to even though its not okay. My gynocologist who is the best doctor i have ever had, explains things to me by taking me into his office and having me read what he is talking about in text books. I can comprehend much better when i read things. Unfortunilty, Doctors are busy these days and I can't expect them to take the time to deal with my inability to understnad. So at age 33, i have face the mortification of giving in to my sister and admitting to her i can't go to doctors appointments alone or never going to see another doctor for as long as i live. What caused all this upset today is a phone conversation with my endochronoligst that illustrated to me that once again i understood nothing and communicated very poorly to her during my appointment. sorry this is lentghy and you probably think i am a nutcase but actually writing this has helped me realize I can't just give up.

thanks mj
