Intraductal PapillomaFrom: Michelle (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Aug 2000 12:06:42 -0500 (CDT)
I'm a 27yr.old female, 41 wks. pregnant, and will be seeing my ob/gyn and a breast surgeon a few weeks post-partum to determine if I am still having a bloody nipple discharge from the right breast. My breast surgeon thinks I may have an intraductal papilloma. After we do some testing (sono, mammogram/ductography, etc.), and if it does turn out to be a papilloma, is the surgery to remove it done in-office with a local anesthetic, or is it major surgery with general anesthesia?? Thanks much! P.S.- When I began having this discharge about two months ago, I saw the breast surgeon, and both breasts tested positive for blood in the dishcharge. Now it is only in the right breast, and coming out of one milk duct. Mikki
