Could low estrogen or other hormone problem explain my problems? From: Catherine (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 31 Aug 2000 07:33:26 -0500 (CDT)
I had been experiencing moderate anxiety and moderate insomnia for the past few months. Recently, the anxiety has become mild (but still present)and the insomnia severe (I wake up after only 2-3 hours sleep, and sleep very poorly after that). All of these problems began after I stopped breastfeeding my child, so I thought it could be hormonal, but that was nearly 6 months ago. My cycles have been regular for the past 4 months (about 32 days, with signs of ovulation - stretchy CM and temp. shift). I don't know if you can have a hormonal problem and still have a regular cycle. My physician is stumped and wants me to get a psych evaluation. I feel strongly that the problem is not psychological, but do not know what else to do. Does this sound like a hormone problem to you? Oh one thing to add, the anxiety seems related to the amount of light, as I start to get anxious at dusk. Can anyone help me please?
