white bump and UTIFrom: Kim (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 27 Aug 2000 14:16:44 -0500 (CDT)
I noticed a painless white bump on the bottom left of my vulva just inside the outer vaginal lips between the vaginal entrance and the rectum. Literature suggests it might be an inflammation of the Bartholins gland. At the same time I first discovered it (about one month ago), I also began experiencing symptoms of a UTI, the symptoms of which were resolved with a tetracycline. The UTI symptoms immediately followed first time sexual activity with a new partner (the same day or next day). I had my partner tested for all STDs and am awaiting the results. My concern was gonnorhea. I have no pain or abnormal discharge of any kind. Do I have cause to worry about STD? If my partner tests negative, what is the proper course of action. I have not been with anyone else since being tested for STDs myself. Thanks for any advice. This has me extremely anxious.
