Pain with urination

I had a laparoscopy this past Thursday morning. My doctor removed some endometriosis, a cyst, and some adhesions on my left ovary. I have my follow up appointment with him this coming Thursday afternoon, but in the mean time, I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I'm having.

Every time I go to empty my bladder, I get a horrible stabbing pain on my left side. It starts when I'm about half way through, and gets worse until I'm finnished. Is this something normal that I just need to deal with? This is the second surgery I've had, and this didn't happen the first time, but I know each time is different.

Anyway, I'd appreciate it if someone would tell me if this is normal, or if maybe I should let my doctor know about it tomorrow.

Thanks, Kris
