Almost 3 months endo post-op, having problems with BMFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Aug 2000 19:35:04 -0500 (CDT)
I had my right ovary removed in mid June for endometriosis. I have not had a reoccurance of endo pain (Yay!). Right after the surgery, I had pain in my upper right abdomial area when trying to have a bowel movement. It doesn't feel like the endo pain, and it's higher than where I ever felt endo pain. Due to medication changes (I have asthma, migraines), I have become more constipated lately. When I have trouble, it feels like something is pulling inside of me. I have the worst nausea I've ever experienced and at times have thought of going to the ER. My suspicion is that I have an adhesion connected to the bowel at some point. This has occurred before with one of my 3 previous surgeries. Is there anyway to tell this without having surgery again? I am starting college after a 8 years absence and don't want to take months off from life because of surgery. With my last surgery I had a laparotomy, and opted for an epidural. It was a lot better than general. My asthma didn't flare up at all. Can epidural be given for a laparoscopic surgery? General anesthesia adds at least a week to my recovery time due to my asthma. Thank you for any replies.
