Anonymous A rectocoele is primarily caused by the stretching of the fascia (tough connective tissue) between the vaginal skin (mucosa) and the underlying rectal mucosa. This primarily happens during childbirth. Constipation will undoubtedly aggravate it. Your GYN may have noticed it, but if it was not too bad (in his opinion) or you were not complaining, he may not have mentioned it. Hope this helps.
