Another Fibroadenoma QuestionFrom: Heidi (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 26 Aug 2000 08:48:17 -0500 (CDT)
I am going to ask to have a fine needle aspiration done on my breast lump (I am 28 years old, previous two lumps were fibroadenomas, no history of cancer). I have been told that if I have this procedure done and the tissue shows that it is not cancer, I still don't necessarily know if I'm in the clear. It could be that, by chance, the area that was selected did not have cancerous cells. Should I feel relieved? Is this true? If it is a cancerous lump, is it normally the case that the whole tumor is cancerous....or just parts of it. Also, I just moved to Switzerland and I'm wondering if you might know how I could find a good breast specialist in Switzerland. Any online resourses that you know of?
-- Thanks so much,
