There are a number of possibilities, which is why it can take multiple visits to your doctor(s) to get an answer. Adhesions are extremely common after abdominal hysterectomies, particularly in patients with endometriosis. Without the benefit of doing an exam, adhesions would be at the top of the list. Endometriosis can sometimes recur despite removal of the uterus and ovaries, regardless of whether you are on HRT. As your urologist suggests, interstitial cystitis or other bladder problems could cause this. Colon problems could cause pain, as could trigger points (tender areas on the abdominal wall). It usually requires a number of visits to pin this down, and it is best diagnosed with a cooperative patient and a concerned doctor. If you feel your doctor is not listening to you, why not obtain a second opinion? Just be sure to bring the operative note, hospital history and physical, and pathology report, as well as any office notes. Good luck,
