6mths post op from TAH/BSO and now having bladder/adhesion issues?From: gidge (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 23 Aug 2000 12:55:30 -0500 (CDT)
Hi a friend gave me this link to follow as I've been having alot of trouble since my abdominal hysterectomy in February due to endometriosis and recurrent ovarian cysts, I am 34 yrs of age. Since my hyst I have had alot of cramping that goes through to my lower back and down my legs and some really extreme shooting like pains that totally take my breath away....my gyn sent me to a urologist that thinks I have interstitial cystitis and put me on Elmiron which I don't think is helpng and is making my hands and feet swell....he is also sending me for a cystoscopy (no distension) that I will be awake for...to make sure that nothing happened in any of my previous surgeries (before the hyst. I had 6 laparoscopie procedures) and he also ordered some cytology testing to rule out bladder cancer (haven't hear back on this and scope is set for Sept 6) I have distinct pulling , sharp pains on lower right side and have read about adhesions and think that this might have something to do with my pain, all of my dr's (gyn, urologist and GP) don't seem to think so and won't even discuss it with me....AND I'm really concerned that my endometriosis may have come back but they say that's impossible without ovaries...but I am on HRT and I have heard it's possible...with my bladder acting up so I wonder if maybe it's on it??? Any advice, or info you can give me would sure help.....I don't know where to turn next !! Thanks
