First, please turn off your caps lock. People will think you are yelling at them (proper netiquette).

Second, the pill can lead to some weight gain. I also think the weight gain is a perimenopausal phenomena. You are 44, so are considered perimenopausal (sorry ;^{) ).

Third, as far as tubal ligations go, you may want to start with a search for 'tubal ligation' right here on our web site. We have a contraception section with excellent links. Ultimately, you need to talk to your private MD about this. He can detail the benefits and risks to you as he knows you and your history. Hope this helps.
