mucous cystsFrom: Aimee (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 12 Aug 2000 12:07:11 -0500 (CDT)
Over a year ago I went to see my FP dr. regarding pain in my LLQ and a mucous discharge with no odor. I would have sharp shooting pains as well as a mucous discharge at anytime of the month. (I never had cramps associated with my cycle before and had a 3-4 day cycle.) My pap came back normal and they said they found mucous producing cytsts. They suggested I have a lap to check for endo or I could get pregnant which can eliminate the problem temporarly. I have since had another child which did help with the problem. My son is now 4 months old and all the symptoms have returned within the last 2 months. The pain is not as severe but the mucous is much more prominant with a slight odor occasionaly. I also have very loose stools that are progressivly getting worse. I am 27 and concerned about my health. They had said that there is no real tx for the mucous cysts but an endo might help with the associated LLQ pain. I havn't returned to my FP since my pregnancy and my post pardum pap was negative. Do you know of any tx for mucous cysts? Or should I surrender to the fact that endo is the best possible solution? Please help! Aimee
