I friend of mine required a D&C due to a miscarriage, and she didn't want the general, so she had an epidural along with IV Sedation. I don't think this is the same as an abortion. I would think that a D&E would be, but not a D&C (D&E is when they evacuate the uterine contents, whereas a D&C is where they scrape the lining. Hope this helps......
