'Multicystic' Ovary

Hello.....

Either I don't post for months, or I seem to post every week....

This past June, I was diagnosed with having a "Multicystic" Ovary on the right, which is suspected as being Endometrioma's. Two days ago, I felt that all too familiar pain of a cyst rupturing. I called the Drs. office, and the nurse told me that it sounded like a rupture as well. Told me to take Aleve 2 pills q 12 hours, Mepergan, which I have for the spasms of the Pancreatitis, heating pad, hot bath, and bed rest. Yesterday, the pain seemed a tiny bit better...not as constant. Today though, it is back and constant. I am going in for a repeat ultrasound tomorrow. Anything else I can do in the meantime to help this? Seems like I am doing everything possible, but I guess I am looking for a magic bullet ;o).

Also, what is the average size of an ovary? My right ovary measured about 1/2" larger than the left ovary. My left ovary (sorry, can only remember the first measurement) was 2.1cm.

If they think these cysts are Endometrioma's (and I know from my post in June from Dr. Montgomery that these can't be definitively diagnosed with an US), shouldn't they be removed? Since Endometrioma's are blood filled cysts, wouldn't that cause more problems with Adhesions (something my body makes too much of....much too much)?

I have been on DepoProvera since November (taking it every month as opposed to every three months) for the Endometriosis. I even asked my Dr. in June what we were accomplishing with the DepoProvera, especially since it wasn't helping my pain from the Endo or the suspected Adeno. His response was, "The cysts may well have been much larger without it." I thought that DepoProvera shut down the ovaries, but Dr. McIntosh said that it doesn't completely shut them down.

Any help or information you can give is much appreciated.

Thanks so much! Robin
