Benefits of Micronor ('mini-pill) vs. combination OCP

My physician has suggested that I try the mini-pill, as they have "the least amount of side efffects.". I have previously taken low dose combination OCPs with little problem. Can you explain why this may have been suggested and what benefits (i.e, reduced side effects)have been reported? Thanks
