Re: To have or not to have....Additional InfoFrom: Cathie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 9 Aug 2000 13:15:44 -0500 (CDT)
I am 29 years old and have not lost the weight. I am 5'3" and 190. I have had my thyroid, hormones and a few other test and all have been normal. When I was on a low-carb diet, my period was normal. How is that for weird? *smile*

The more I read here, it makes me wonder if I am having anovulatory cycles. In 1992, I had the Norplant BC and gained 57 lbs. within 6 months of its insertion. The doctor removed it due to my weight gain. My doctor wants to put me back on a pill that contains the same hormones as Norplant and it really scares me. I do not want to gain more weight. Typical diets have not worked for me, low-carb does work but I have not committed myself to that just yet. What are your suggestions? Do I have to take a birth control pill to have a cycle? What type of diet is best? Thanks!
