Susan, Bleeding that is irregular is often due to the cycle being mixed up hormonally. When the hormonal message is mixed up, it usually has it's root in the ovulatory event. It may indeed be related to either irregular or no ovulation. My recommendation would be to use hormones to regulate your cycle, i.e. birth control pills until you decide definitively that you desire a pregnancy, then other modalities can be done to assist in ovulation, enabling you to achieve pregnancy...
