Re: endometriosisFrom: Ann (anonymous@obgyn.net)Wed, 2 Aug 2000 23:41:46 -0500 (CDT)
Lynn, I too have endometriosis, diagnosed in Jan 2000. I have never considered children a big priority. My husband and I have even talked about never having children. But after being diagnosed with endo, I would see babies and feel badly. Like what if I was passing up my only chance? It also didn't help that all my friends were telling us what great parents we would be. So I totally understand how you feel. It took a lot of soul searching for me to find what I wanted to do. I decided that I wanted to get my master's degree in psychology and establish myself as a psychologist before considering children. If the time comes where we want children and can't have any naturally, we can adopt or become foster parents. My best friend said, "If you are meant to be surrounded by children you will be." I didn't want to feel pressured into having children when it wasn't the best time in my life. Like mine, your decision is a personal one. Try and do what would be best for you, your fiance, and your potential baby. I wish you all the best with your health and your personal life. Good luck!
