Re: curring tubalsFrom: Leigh (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Jul 2000 21:44:42 -0500 (CDT)
Jane, This was my 2nd treatment of methotrexate. The 1st time, I discovered I was having a tubal when I was struck w/ an onset of severe pain. The dr. gave me an injection of metho. and it hurt really bad(but I think this was because I was already bleeding internally). I then bled for abot 10 days or so,really heavy bleeding.I had to pass all the uterine lining and I had bad cramps. I did not really have any real "side effects" per say,but plenty of emotional moments. My second tubal was in the same tube,so the dr. removed the tube because of the damage. My 3rd tubal was just in June. My pg was (+) and HCG was only 20(this was 31dpo) 2 days later it was 22,then 2 days later 21,then 50. my dr. decided to give me metho. because at that point he knew it was not a viable pg.and my numbers were climbing, which was not good. The metho. did not hurt near as bad.I was just really tired and stayed away from anyone w/ a cold, since your immune system is lowered. My #'s kept rising and they thought I was going to have to have another injection, but when my numbers started dropping, I started bleeding, which meant I was passing the pg. My 2nd tubal, the #'s were high, started at 80 and almost tripled every other day. They thought I was having twins. I wish you lots of luck.I just know God has that baby out there for me somewhere. We now want to adopt. It's just not my time.Oh,my dr. took a frozen sample and sent it to pathology and they knew it was not a m/c,because no pg. tissue showed up in the sample. Please feel free to e-mail me. Unfortunately,I know a little too much about ectopics. Leigh Ann
