Re: Swollen Stomach, Stomach Pains, Weight Gain, Swollen CervixFrom: Janet (anonymous@obgyn.net)Mon, 31 Jul 2000 16:54:41 -0500 (CDT)
Are you British by any chance? With medical treatment like that it certainly sounds like it! If you are - See another GP for a second opinion - either with your existing practice or with another. Your are entitled to one and I certainly wouldn't hang about with that much weight gain! I'm not a doctor, so I can't advise you medically, but BUPA advertise ovarian scans for 'from £125' only on referral from your GP - presumably an ovarian scan would show other organs in the region? And the waiting list privately is zero! An initial consultation with a gynaecologist is about £80 - ring your local Nuffield and enquire. And if you go privately, pick your gyneacologist! They're all different! (Ask the staff at the hospital!) GOOD LUCK
