I visited my doctor 5 months ago because my stomach was very swollen. The doctor said that I had water retention.

During sex I felt a very sharp pain and started bleeding. I went back to the doctor who arrange a smear to be taken two weeks later. The doctor told me that my cervix was very swollen and he would refer me to Hospital. The waiting list is 2-3 months, and I am told that I have been very lucky to get an appointment within 2 months.

I have been back to the doctor because I can't sleep at night as my stomach is constantly sore and now extremely swollen. I have put on one and a half stone, which is showing on my stomach only. I have lost sight of my hips. The doctor said that the only reason for a swollen stomach was either wind or constipation. I have neither of these symptoms. He gave me pain killers for a pelvic infection, which haven't made any difference.

The doctor also suggested trying sex again. When I have sex I now experience something hitting the bottom of my stomach. I am in even more pain for a day afterwards.

I have to wait until the end of August to see the gynacologist at the hospital.

? Why is the waiting list so long? ? How much would it cost to go privately, and what would the waiting list be for that? ? Are sevre swelling of the stomach and stomach pains related to cervicitis?
