Please help Ifeel confused

I am six/seven weeks pregnant. Today is Sunday morning, I have been bleeding since Friday morning with a dull ache in the lower part of my stomach. The bleeding has not been very bad, it's there when I wipe myself after using the toilet and there has been some blood clot in it. The pain has now subsided. Does this sound like a miscarriage? My doctor has told me to rest and go back next Wednesday for a pregnancy test, but I'm going out of my mind with worry because if it is a miscarriage would there be a lot of blood would I be in more pain? I don't feel pregnant any more (my breasts are not firm and my stomach is feeling more like normal) or could this just be a hormonal thing? I feel very confused please give me some guidance.
