I am sorry for what you have gone through. Rape is one of the most evil of crimes. It is good that you reported it, at least you are able to talk about it. Hopefully, even the treat of prosecution will scare a few years off of his life. The laws vary in different states, so I don't know if the hospital must actually report the crime. Even of they do, they probably do not report your name or ant specifics about you. In most cases, whether or not further action is taken depends on if the victim wants to press charges. That is a very difficult decision to make. Healing takes time. Hopefully you WILL be able to have a trusting relationship with a man. Sometimes, it takes help with the aid of counseling. Don't feel strange if you think you need it (most of us should have it for a variety of other reasons). Good luck with the healing.
