Ovarian tumorsFrom: Anji (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 25 Jul 2000 01:16:52 -0500 (CDT)
Six months ago, my sister had two large beign tumors removed plus a full hysterectmy. She is overweight and hadn't been to the obgyn in years. The tumors were very large, one the size of a soccer ball, and one the size of a football. In the last year I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and have lost over 50 lbs with a lot more to go. I do weightlifting, bikeriding 7 miles a day, and about 100 crunches a day. About a month ago I noticed that when I did stomach crunches I had a bulg in the middle of my stomach, about 6 inches over my belly button. Today while working out I noticed that this bulg is much bigger. When I lay down and start to sit up to do a crunch, there is now what looks like a soccer ball right in middle of my stomach. Last month I thought this was just from building up my stomach muscles but now it is very scary. It doesn't hurt when I push on it, but looks big enough for me to be 6 months pregnant. Is it possible for this to be similiar to what my sister had and which doctor should I see. My family or a obgyn. I am way overdue for a checkup and will make a gyn appointment regardless. Should I consider this an emergency when I call the doctor or could it just be from losing weight and building muscle. Thanks for any info.
