It is quite common to have bleeding and cramping in early pregnnacy, and I am very encouraged by your HCG levels that are increasing at a reassuring rate. The HCG is produced by the pregnancy tissue, and as soon as that tissue is no longer functional, the HCG begins to decline. However, that tissue can be functional, albeit not normally, for some time, and this can lead to confusion. If you had miscarried, the HCG level would begin to drop immediately.
