Bleeding and cramping, but HCG levels seem normalFrom: Kris (anonymous@obgyn.net)Tue, 18 Jul 2000 15:57:46 -0500 (CDT)
After having a completely normal period the week before, I started bleeding and cramping again last week. The Dr. recommended taking a pregnancy test, which was positive. They have been monitoring my HCG levels, which went from 160 to 470 (2 days) then to 814 (3 days). I feel like something has to be wrong since I am still spotting this week, but I can't get that small notion out of my mind that everything might be okay after all. They will continue to monitor HCG, but won't do an ultrasound until HCG is over 2000. How common is it to have bleeding and cramping, but still have a happy ending? Does HCG start dropping as soon as miscarriage occurs, or could it still increase if I have already miscarried?
