No bleeding after the first intercourseFrom: *** (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 9 Jul 2000 21:18:35 -0500 (CDT)
I did have some pain but no bleeding during the first intercourse. Although my boyfriend does believe it was for the first time for me, I feel so confused and even guilty. Is there any statistics on how many women are/are not supposed to bleed? Is it possible that there was no blood because he was extremely gentle in the process? I tried to have a gyn exam twice - just because I was a bit old for being a virgin and thought I have to go for a check up. My first attempt was awful - it was a very rude woman, that tried to insert a big round thing in me (pap smear??), I asked her to stop as it hurt and quit that office for the good. I did not have any bleeding though. Another attempt was much better, the doctor is just great. But I told her that I would prefer to have my hymen intact, and after a visual examination she decided not to go any further, asking me to come after starting to be sexually active. Do you think the first exam could be the reason of not bleeding? Am I among the very few non-bleeding exceptions or it happens often to other women too? Thanks and sorry for asking these silly quesions.
