IVF procedure of egg retrieval caused infection in left ovary which hospitalized me for 6 days on IV antibiotics. A few weeks later, infection returned and abcess formed in left ovary. Originally scheduled Laparotomy but switched to Laparoscopic surgery to be done this week. Must remove left ovary and check bowels for scar tissue, etc. How successful is this? Anyone had experience with ovarian abcess and surgery to prevent rupturing? (I've had 4 other Laparoscopic surgeries before for tubular pregnancies, etc., but want to know success outcomes on this since not all surgeons can perform this type of surgery through Scope alone. -- Lisa Next message: Iliana: "I'm very worry about spina bifida!"
