Elizabeth, First of all, if you have been sexually active without birth control you could certainly be pregnant. Second bleeding can occur following intercourse pregnant or not. Often the bleeding following intercourse is from the cervix. I would recommend that you have a check up to evaluate the cervix, especially a pap smear if you have not recently had one. It sounds as though a discussion about birth control would also be appropriate at that time... Lynn
