I have to be honest, I have not seen this combination. Serophene also acts by blocking the estrogen receptors in the hypothalmus and pituitary. This has the affect of fooling the body into thinking that there isn't any estrogen (which is usually produced by a developing egg) being produced and in turn the hypothalmus and pituitary will produce more follicle stimulating hormone (FSH), which in turn intensifies the recruitment of an egg(s) from the ovaries, therefore inducing ovulation. My guess is that the tamoxifen is given to intensify this response... Lynn
