Any kind of >advice you could give would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Mary Mary, First, the periods. There are other methods of accomplishing control of your bleeding besides the pill. One method is to use progesterone-which is safe with your smoking. Second, the skipping heart. Most of the irregular heart beats that we all feel are benign or normal and increase with stress, caffeine, smoking, fatigue or lack of sleep. However, it is important to assure that the skipping you are having is normal. For this, I would discuss them with your primary care provider. Additionally, I would want to make sure your thyroid is normal... Lynn
