I can't answer some of your questions, but I can assure you that you aren't the oldest virgin in the world outside of a convent. I'm 36 and still a virgin myself - happily until I'm married - that's not a bad thing! I also shared some of your fears before I went to the gynecologist the first time a few years ago. Its still near the top of my most dreaded activities, but I've managed to live through a few pelvic exams and I'm sure you will to! I've suffered some because I've been unwilling to go to the doctor to take care of a bleeding problem, and after reading a bit here I'm about over that. I'd rather feel good, than worry about being embarassed! For what its worth, in my limited visits to the gynecologist I've never had a rectal exam. Maybe you'll be as fortunate.
