abdominal distention after laproscopic procedure/HELP!From: Deborah (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sat, 1 Jul 2000 01:35:35 -0500 (CDT)
I have been trying to conceive for over 3 years. My husband and I have gone through tests and everything seems fine. I finally visited a fertility specialist and during the vaginal ultrasound, a cyst was found near my right ovary. He did not like the way it looked and asked for a second opinion by calling in his colleague. The results were to have a laproscopy to remove it. I just had the procedure on Tuesday(27th) and today is Saturday (7/01) and it was a fibroid tumor rather than a cyst and the beginning of endemetriosis was cleared. He also checked my f-tubes by inserting a dye to see if they were clear and everything looked fine. What is causing my concern, is my abdominal distention. How long should this be swollen? I cannot wear any of my clothes because of this and wondered if you could tell me how long I should be this way. I look as if I am 5 months pregnant. What is the usual recovery time? In looking at the archives, it seems as if it should be an easy recovery time. I will see my doctor in 2 weeks for a follow up, but should I see him sooner or how long should I wait before being too concerned. Thanks for any help you can give me, I am really nervous about all this.--Deborah
