Re: Possible UTI or just contamination from vaginal contents?

Hi Becky,

You are very welcome. I am glad that I could help you.

Now, if you think you may have a UTI, I personally would not wait until Thursday to talk with the Dr. about it. A UTI can get to the kidneys, and can happen quickly. Take it from someone that has had two kidney infections that landed me in the hospital for two weeks each time, this is not something that I would wait on.

Also, be honest with your Dr. about having intercourse before you were supposed to. S/he is not sitting there in judgement of you. They are there to help. If you leave out this important part of the picture, you are only harming yourself. Not worth the risk. Maybe it is just irritation from intercourse causing the problem, or, maybe it is an infection, be it a bladder infection or an infection from having intercourse before you should have, but you need to let your Dr. know everything in order to get the appropriate treatment.

Also, maybe if you explain to your instructor that doing the UA's is causing you to worry more about what is going on with you, s/he will allow you a break from it until you see or talk with your Dr. The added stress of not knowing what is happening when you see the levels changing is not helping your situation any.

Take it easy. Call the Dr. or go to the ER if things are not improving and you are having symptoms.
