Lymphatic cyst

I've been diagnosed with a lymphatic cyst (lymphocele) following a hysterectomy with lymph node removal for cervical cancer. It's extremely painful and I most likely will be having surgery soon...draining it was unsuccessful. My question is, is it possible for this to burst? And is there any danger if it does? This morning I woke up with a 102 fever that hasn't gone down. There was severe pain this morning also...enough that I couldn't go to work. The pain has let up with the help of 2 vicodin but I'm wondering if I should be concerned about this?

Thanks... ~Susan
