Laura-

This is probably a "dedidual cast," which is a piece of tissue shaped like the lining of the uterus. These are caused by the progesterone in the birth control pill (or the depo-provera shot, or Norplant). They are not harmful, but can be annoying. Usually they don't recur. However, since there is no way to diagnose this on the Internet, it would be best to visit a doctor or other women's health care provider to make sure everything is o.k.
