Changes in Biopsey's for dysplasiaFrom: Susan (anonymous@obgyn.net)Thu, 29 Jun 2000 05:08:51 -0500 (CDT)
I had a pap come back in June with HGSIL and no indication of HPV. (all previous 12 month paps have been normal). When I went to the doctor office we did a colcopsy and I had a sever infection. He took 6 punch biopsey's blind (could not see suspecious areas because the infection was so bad). Three of those biopsey's came back with sever dysplasia CIN III. After taking medicine for the infection the doctor took 3 more punch biopsey's of areas that he could now see looked suspecious. Those biopsey's came back normal with mild inflamation. Do I still have CIN III? Could the infection have caused the original biopsey results?
