Periods last too longFrom: Andrea (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 25 Jun 2000 10:59:59 -0500 (CDT)
I am 24 years old. Have 2 small children. Have history of cervical dysplasia, had cryosurgery in 1997, all colposcopy's, biopsies, and paps after the cryo have been normal. After having my childen my periods have been abnormal. They come every 25 to 29 days, but they last too long. Day 1 through 6 is normal period, then I continue to spot for up to a week after that. My periods are not heavy, and I am not bleeding after sex. What tests should I ask my doctor to do to find out what is wrong? Is this hormonal? I cannot go on birth control pills as I get horrendous migraines. Would it be harmful to do nothing and just let my body try to normalize itself? Thanks.
