I have not been pleased with the outcomes, either immediate or long term. Further my track record is that I don't do them, but I have never cared for a patient that got an ablation that didn't subsequently require a hyst within a year of the procedure. I manage dysfunctional bleeding and heavy periods in a systematic fashion, starting with hormonal therapy (which fixes most), followed by a D&C for those refractory to the hormones. Ultimately, depending on the woman's desire for fertility, If the afore mentioned options are unsuccessful, I will discuss the option of hysterectomy. In your case at age 32, I would prefer the option of vaginal hysterectomy with preservation of the ovaries (leaving them in place)... Lynn
