Questions again......:-)For more information on symptoms and treatment of endometriosis visit www.EndometriosisZONE.org. From: Kathy (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 11 Jun 2000 13:25:29 -0500 (CDT)
My doctor keeps changing his mind, and it drives me crazy!! I just had an exploratory laparotomy for ORS. He found it near my belly button. (Goodness, could my last surgeon have dropped a piece during laproscopy?????) Anyway, I am having night sweats...although not really bad ones. I started on Climara 0.5mg, and hot flashes are a little better...yet still have some. Okay, Last week doc told me that in a month we need to up it to at least 1.0mg because I am 35 years old. This week he says "oh, no .5mg is enough for you". Okay, docs what is an appropriate dose for a 35 year old women in surgical menopause. I want to protect my bones and heart. Only breast cancer in my family is my mom's sister with "precancerous lesions" that were "very fast growing". My second question is I am now almost 3 weeks post op,and I still have horrible bowel and bladder spasms with any urination or defecation. I did have some adhesions, and he used seprafilm. He "wrapped my bladder" with seprafilm. I am on ditropan with a little, but not much relief. I usually get bladder spasms post op, but they are usually gone by 3 weeks post op. I am just waiting it out, but they do not feel like they are getting better like they usually do. I have terrible pain when emptying my bladder. It is bad enough that it takes me a long time to relax enough to fully empty. I did have an infection which was suspectible to Ampicillin, and I finished a 10 day course of Augmentin 875mg twice a day. Has anyone had a patient have bladder spasms and bowel spasms post op????? Thank you!
