**Kristy/Amy**PT/Pelvic PainFrom: Connie (anonymous@obgyn.net)Sun, 11 Jun 2000 09:13:16 -0500 (CDT)
Kristy & Amy: I did have "deep pelvic massage & myofasial release". The reason I did is because my pcp had suggested an MRI, but my insurance (aren't HMO's wonderful) would not allow me to have the MRI, they suggested deep pelvic massage. With the MRI, we were trying to rule out any lower back problem that may have been the cause of my left sided pelvic pain. The PT didn't help and during the 9 treatments I was in even more pain afterwards. The first treatment I had wasn't too bad, but as the therapist went deeper she said that she felt what was most probably adhesions that were deep in my pelvic area. As a result of this, my gyn suggested a laparoscopy, which of course was negative. So, I feel that I am basically doomed to a life of chronic pelvic pain...as pain management specialists are now reporting the only way to manage is thru pain meds. However, I am not suggesting that other woman not try the PT, it just didn't work for me. Again, thank you both for answering my post. I really like this forum as I get some great feedback and I know now that I am not alone.
