A little good news for a change ;o)

Hello Everyone....

Just thought I'd share a little bit of good news for a change, since most of what has been coming from me is not so good news.

I went to the Hematologist today for a blood count and my Procrit injection. To preface, I was there last week, and received an IV infusion of Dextran (Iron) to see if this would help to boost my H&H. Well, it seems like between the dose that I received at the hospital in April, and the dose last week, my H&H is starting to come up some. I even commented to a friend this morning before going to the Hemo that I have had a couple of "perky" days, not many but a couple, which I have enjoyed (today being one of those). I am a little worn out now (spent a couple of hours at the hairdresser...what a job ;o) j/k), but overall, have a bit more energy than I have had in months!!!!!! I did have a reaction to the Dextran when it was given to me, but they treated me with IV Benadryl a couple of times, and I did okay. The itching and rash were worth it if it helps make me feel a bit better.

I am waiting on the results of a Small Bowel Endoscopy I had to see if they can find a bleed in the small bowel since the large bowel was clear when they did the Colonoscopy (found to be Iron Deficient and had Occult Blood in my stool...found in April, but had to wait until a few weeks ago to do the colonoscopy due to a flare of Pancreatitis). I am sure if there was anything, I would know by now...go back to the GI on Wednesday for those results. I am trying to keep a positive attitude about it all, as I have realized that I can't change the results should they not be favorable. Whatever it is, it is, and I can only hope and pray for the best!!!!

I hope that everyone has a terrific weekend! It is going to be beautiful in Atlanta...I hope everyone else has the beautiful weather too!
