Crohn's and spastic colon can both cause left sided abd. pain. The ca-125 was proposed to be a screening test for ovarian cancer. It really has not worked out to be any good as such. It ihas many false positives. E.G. endometriosis can cause an elevation. The only real use it seems to have is in patients who have been diagnosed with cancer and it is elevated, then it can be followed and when it drops the patient is doing well, but if it is rising, the cancer is coming back.
