Montgomery, MD: "Re: more questions on hrt" I wote a letter earlier today about stopping my hrt. I didn't really give all the information. I am 52 and started hrt 10 years ago. I am also taking synthriod 75mg and atenolol 50 mg for heart palpatations. Something I started taking 2 months ago. I have been on synthroid for ten years also. I have not had a hysterectomy. I just read that you should only be on hrt for a short time and it scared me because I have been on it for so long. My obgyn said I could go off it but I am wondering if I will have side effects . She didn't say whether I should stop altogether or get off gradually.I am concerned that I will have side effects if I stop suddenly. I am not overweight and have been feeling well whileon hrt. I am just cocerned about the lenght of time that I have been on it. What can I expect if I stop? Next message: D.
