Having a hysterectomy does not necessarily mean that you don't have your ovaries. You may not have them, but then again, you may. Most ovarian cysts are fluid filled luteal cysts which occur during ovulation. You can still ovulate after a hysterectomy if you have your ovaries. Did your physician put you on Hormone Replacement Therapy? If not, chances are you do still have your ovaries.
